The New River Substation, which was designed by Tri Sage Engineering, DC Engineering and Lumos and Associates, Inc., and constructed by Bodec Electric, Inc., is the City’s fourth substation. The project included site work, ground grid installation, fencing, foundations, transformer installation, regulators, metering cabinets and substation commissioning in order to construct and interconnect the new 60 kV substation. The addition of the New River Substation increased the reliability of the City’s electrical system, decreased the current demand on the Babb Street Substation and provided capacity for future growth and development at the City’s New River Business Park.
